At Home Salon 2014: Ascot, Berkshire

3 June - 15 July 2014

Marcelle Joseph Projects is delighted to present At Home Salon 2014, an exhibition in the private residence of the curator in Ascot and showcasing artworks by 28 contemporary artists. The exhibition will take place throughout this residential property and its garden and in true salon style, will feature two- and three-dimensional artwork alongside performance, installation, video, poetry and music.  There will not be a consistent style or medium, and works will fluctuate in size and scale.  The work will be in constant flux with each other and some of the works from the curator's own collection.

This group show is the second in a series of exhibitions entitled At Home Salon. The first one took place in 2012 in the curator's home.  Founded in 2011, Marcelle Joseph Projects is a nomadic curatorial platform based in the UK.  The lack of any permanent physical space gives this roving projects company the impetus to find alternative spaces outside the white cube environment which can be refreshing for both the exhibiting artists as well as the viewers of the exhibition.

On Friday, 6th June, during the coffee morning, there will be a curator's tour at 10am.  On Saturday, 7th June, there will be drinks and dinner served in the presence of the majority of the artists showcased in the exhibition together with performances by Colden Drystone and James Capper, a poetry reading by Nathan Cash Davidson and music throughout the evening curated by artist Rhys Coren. Artist Jonathan Trayte will be cooking up a Turkish kebab feast for the assembled guests. On Sunday, 8th June, during the afternoon tea, there will be another curator's tour at 3.30pm.
